Letter from Tacoma #97: September 4, 2017

Hey Family!

Due to Labor Day, and the libraries being closed, I don't have much time to email today, so I'll make this email shorter than usual.

Oh my gosh! Easton is here!!! I'm way excited to meet him and Kobe in a few weeks!
(Though now that I think about it, I don't remember if I ever heard if it was going to be a boy or a girl before... but I could have overlooked that part. That just makes it an even bigger surprise!!)😁

So yeah, got transfer calls. I'm going to be staying in Olympia 3rd, and all my companions are leaving me. Instead, I'll be getting Elder Scow. I've never met him before, so I'm not sure what to expect, but I think it'll be fun. And to top the whole call, for my last transfer only, I'm being called as a District Leader. Never served in any kind of leadership position before, so this should be interesting.

It's so crazy! The end of my mission is in sight, but I'm not anxious, surprisingly. In fact, I feel like I'm more calm and relaxed now more than ever. I feel like a part of it was just me not being sure I'd make it this far. I know I couldn't have done it without relying on the Lord. He's been my strength and support out here, and I'm very grateful to know that He continues to watch over me.

Transfers are tomorrow, and I'll keep an eye out for the missionaries coming in from Brandon's MTC district. Maybe I'll poke my head in room where they'll be gathering and just say hi.☺

In church, there seemed to be one constant theme that kept coming up, all about enjoying the present, rather than living in the past or the future. I feel like that really hit home for me, and I'm sure you can guess why. But now that I don't have to worry whether I can make it to the end of the mission or not, I'm really focusing on enjoying this last little bit I have. The other theme that kept popping up was, "Never give up!"

I promise I'll write more next week, but for now I gotta get off!
Thanks for reading!
Love you!
