Letter from Tacoma #40: August 1, 2016

 Hey Everyone!

I'm gonna make this letter a bit of a shorter one, mostly because I just feel lazy today. Whoo! Lazy P-Day!

This week was pretty slow near the beginning, but everything was awesome at the end!

Last Tuesday we had to drive all the way to Elma, which is about an hour drive, to have interviews with Mission President, but the drive back was three hours long because of traffic, so we didn't even get home until dinner. Overall, it was a round trip of over 100 miles.
Then Wednesday we drove to Aberdeen for district meeting, about a fifty mile round trip.

So from Thursday onwards, we were officially out of miles for the rest of the week, so we were left to bike everywhere for the rest of the week! It was a great workout, but Elder Hansen and I would be exhausted by the end of the night. Thankfully most of our work is in Ocean Shores itself, and not to mention it's the flattest terrain I've ever worked with, so it wasn't that difficult.

The difficult part was the fact that we just couldn't seem to meet or contact any of our investigators. Biking made it hard to see all of them quickly, and they just weren't home when we were there. So we were starting to get a bit discouraged when we weren't getting anywhere with anything.

But all that changed on Friday, when we found two new investigators, an older couple who were interested in the Book of Mormon and just what the Mormon church is about. We had a great lesson with them, which really improved our own attitude for the rest of the week! It was really refreshing, which just goes to show nothing is as satisfying as fulfilling missionary work and helping people grow in the gospel. As for our new investigators, they said they'd read the Book of Mormon and pray about it, and we have a return appointment with them this Thursday.

To finish off the week, this weekend there was a Motorcycle Rally in Ocean Shores, which was basically a convention for motorcycles. I've never seen so many bikes!

There were a lot of people to talk to there, but they all seemed so intimidating with all their leather coats and beards. Oh well.

But there were a couple of guys doing stunts on their motorcycles, and I got some cool tricks on video. I'll try to send those as well. (Sorry if the quality isn't that good)

I'm glad to see that everyone's still doing well back home! I love you all and I miss being able to spend the fun times with you... Well, as much as I did before. But now I wish I had spent more time doing things as a family, particularly the ones that I chose not to join in.

Thanks for reading!
