Letter from Tacoma #87: June 26, 2017

Hey everybody!!!!

So, yeah. This week was pretty good, but it's so hot over here!!! I don't even know the exact temperature over the week, but Sunday was the worst and it felt like I was melting in my suit outside.

But other than that, all is well. Still learning to get along with Elder Stewart, and I feel I'm doing much better than last week.

On Tuesday, we had exchanges and I went to Key Center's area to work. I've missed my old area, and it was fun to see a lot of members I'd served around at the very start of my mission. To my surprise though, almost everyone in the ward recognized me on sight, and it's been a year and a half since I served there last. That was a great experience. I love that ward.

While I was gone though, Elder Stewart and his comp-for-the-day saw our investigator, Jennifer. She's committed to be baptized on July 8th! She's awesome, really a golden investigator. She's come to church by herself every week so far, she's reading the Book of Mormon, and she's making friends with a bunch of members in the ward. We're excited for her!

Lately, since it's the end of the month, we've been low on miles. So we've been catching a lot of rides to appointments out of our area with some awesome members, the Staley's. They're converts to the church and honestly they would do anything for missionaries. Bro. Staley also makes hand-made journals, kind of like the ones I've been using, and he said he might actually make one for me. Unfortunately that'll have to wait until after the Navy moves all their stuff from Georgia to Washington before Bro. Staley can start on it. And by that point, I could be transferred out of the area. But here's to hoping!

Oh yeah, and the biggest news of this week. This week was our mission president's last full week in the mission. This week on Friday, we'll be getting a new mission president, named President Leishman. It's way weird to be getting a different mission president!! I only have 16 weeks left, and it won't be with President Blatter anymore. It'll be interesting to see if anything changes with President Leishman in the mission, and everyone is anticipating his arrival.

And I took some pictures of the view by our apartment. It always looks best at high tide:

Anyways, that's all from me!
Everything back home sounds way fun now that Summer is here! I hope Mom and Dad enjoy their cruise and they make it back home alright.

Love you all!
Thanks for reading!
