Letter From Tacoma #76: April 10, 2017
Forewarning: the computer i'm using today has a broken 'shift' key, which is annoying the absolute crap out of me, so i'm just dealing with it. so don't be surprised by the lack of capital letters.
this was a decent week. nothing too exciting happened, but i blame spring break for that. there was a whole bunch of stuff going on in the lives of the people we're working with, so we weren't able to really see anyone. and with general conference last week, we hardly saw anyone from our own ward it seemed. feeling kind of lonely, but not really. still working hard, but as always, not a lot of rampant success in boonie areas.
ooh, that reminds me, i have this talk/song on my flash drive that really fits with this easter season while on the mission. i had thought before about sending it home, so i might as well, seeing as i don't have a lot to put into this letter. you'll find a link to it at the bottom of the email. it's a couple of excerpts from talks by president eyring and elder holland, and it's coupled by some good intramental music.
speaking of easter, right now i'm in the process of reading jesus, the christ. you know, that one thick book by elder talmage. well, i've reached the part that talks about jesus' triumphal entry into jerusalem on palm sunday. i got there on, as luck would have it, palm sunday. i didn't even mean to time it so perfectly, so i've decided to read along through the book each day that happened before christ's ressurection on easter. it's very insightful, and it helps me feel the magnitude of this occasion.
i'm excited for easter in general. It's a great day to remember the savior. also, i like easter candy; that's another perk. but it's a fun time on the mission as well.
that's all for me, sadly enough, but i'm glad the new zealand trip was fun! And, happy birthday Krista and Kyler!
Thanks for reading!
Love you all!
