Letter from Tacoma #61: December 26, 2016

 Merry Christmas!!!

Here's a pic of all the stuff I got this year:

Everything you see on the desk was a Christmas Present... except that yellow shoe box, which contains most of the edible presents... Yeah, that box is packed very tightly and to the brim with candy and sweets... It's almost too much!
So, in honor of Aunt Tami, I proceeded to do this:

Yay, Sucky-Day Food!

This week was fun. I was grateful for the Emry's letting us use their computers to call home. Not only that, but the Emry's gave us both stockings as well, which had things like an orange, candy, guava nectar, and other things. And they gave me a Gingerbread House kit. When we got back to the apartment last night, I started working on it... and let's just say it started to turn out a bit pitifully as far as the frosting went. It's not that I didn't have patience, it's just that the frosting wasn't sticking. So, I improvised. I call it, Snowed In On Christmas:

Lol

Yeah, this Christmas was really fun. But I can say without a doubt, because of the impending holiday this week, there wasn't a whole lot of work done. We spent most of the week just serving members. We still knocked between 5-7 everyday, but all our mornings and afternoons were spent a whole bunch of other things. I did talk about during the call that we helped a member family install a new sink this week, which took way longer than it needed to. That happened on Tuesday.

Last Saturday, back when we had a branch Christmas Potluck, they had everybody bring cookies so they could make a bunch of gift boxes out of them to be taken to the more lonely and needy this Christmas. So we were left in charge of delivering all of them. That took a lot longer than I thought, too! But it felt great to give to people during the Christmas Season. There were a lot of people who really were grateful for the gifts.

Transfer Calls came on Christmas Eve, and I'll be going to Silverdale 1st, and I'll be in a foursome with the Zone Leaders there. Meanwhile, Elder Devenberg is staying and getting Elder Rodgers. I've met Elder Rodgers briefly, and he seems cool. I think Devenberg will like him. But I will miss serving with Elder Devenberg. He was a fun companion to serve with, too.

But I'm excited to be going to a new area. I've been in Ocean Shores a little too long. If I'd stayed another transfer, I'm pretty sure everyone in town would have known me. I'm ready to go see somewhere else. I wonder how I'll do working in the city again.

Also, before I transfer out of here, I'm going to be sending a package home, just some stuff I don't need to be lugging around now. Just keep an eye out for it, and when it comes, just put it with the rest of my stuff and I'll take care of it when I get back.

Don't have much time to email though, because I've got go get ready for transfers tomorrow.

So I'll leave this email here for now, and tell you all about my new area next week.

Thanks for reading!
