Letter from Tacoma #37: July 11, 2016

 Hey, everybody!

Finally it's P-Day! This last week was super slow, and also a little stressful. I had been excited for the 4th of July, but I guess I overlooked the fact that it wouldn't be as exciting as back home, since we had to be inside before it even got dark enough for fireworks. I'll have to keep that in mind for next year.

But in other news, transfer calls were this Saturday! I'm getting transferred to Ocean Shores! So, I've spent the last day and a half after hearing that telling everyone if they want to mail me, just put it in a bottle and send it down the river; It'll wash up on the beach eventually. LOL 😆 I'm excited, but I'm also sad to be leaving Mountain View. It's been a fun area to work in, and not to mention we have a lot of solid investigators here that we'll have to hand off to the next missionaries, because, guess what, my companion, Elder Jensen, is getting transferred, too.

Yeah... so that means we spent quite a while last night updating paperwork we put off for the last few weeks so the next missionaries can pick up right where we left the area. And we spent most of Sunday going from member to member, saying goodbye.

I'll send a new mailing address when I find it out.

Anyways, before all that went down, Thursday through Saturday was Toledo's Cheese Days Celebration, and we set up another Family History booth for the convention on Saturday. But this one was way more crowded than Egg Days was a couple weeks ago!

Unfortunately, we didn't really see any prospects from it, but we still had fun!

There's not a lot to tell about this last week, and that's really all that happened. But it sounds like a lot is going on back home.

It's finally that time, isn't it? Black Belt Testing Week is here!

Good Luck Mom! I hope you do your best and blow the judges away! It won't be easy, but I know you can do it!

I really miss TKD. I'm much better at teaching martial arts in the studio than I am at teaching the gospel out here! Plus, it's great for working out.
Without it, I think I'm even getting fat!... But I guess that's what I get for members letting me order bacon-wrapped shrimp for dinner. (No, I'm not kidding, here's a picture to prove it)

(I was amazed! The menu only said it was topped with bacon, not entirely wrapped by a single strip, topped with melted cheese! It was delicious! Totally worth all the fat!) Darn you, nice members for taking us out to eat! You drive me to pig out!

... Yeah, I've been slacking a bit on working out in the morning. With this new area and a new transfer ahead, I'll make a resolution to exercise more.

.... Wait, where was I going with that? Oh yeah, Tae Kwon Do! Yeah, I totally miss it! But on the bright side, I know I'll have about three months after I come home in 2017 before I go to school, and I hope I can go to every single class each week during that time. I'm trying to keep all of the material in my remembrance. All the higher rank stuff is starting to become fuzzy for me, but I remember all of the forms up to Taguek 8 (or however you spell it)!

Congratulations on passing the test, Dad, Katrina, and Kamryn! I'm actually amazed at how quick your test went! Great job!

On a bit of a side note, Tia had a bridal shower? That's crazy! It's kind of hard to believe that Ryan's getting married a month from now! (Don't take that personally, Ryan. I don't mean anything by that other than the fact that time flies so quickly)

Pictures:

-One last picture before I say goodbye to Mountain View. It's really a beautiful place, especially when there are lots of small clouds in the sky

-... eh, ...., one more picture for the lols

I made another funny meme!  A few weeks ago, we were going to district meeting, but we found this robin that had died by hitting the glass door at top speed.

LOL

Love you all!
Thanks for reading!
