Letter from Tacoma #27: May 2, 2016

 First of all...

BETHANY AND ETHAN GOT MARRIED?!?!?! WHEN DID THIS BECOME A THING?!?!

Second of all...

I must have either missed it, or nobody gave me an actual date for Krista's wedding, because I had no idea that was happening this week, this Thursday no less! That'll be super exciting! I hope I get to talk to the newly weds on Mother's Day, too! (The miracle of technology shall bypass the distance of the Honeymoon. --Elder R. Austin Moe)

Anyways, speaking of which:
Mother's Day!

So, I'm not too sure about details right now. I believe the time frame we'll be doing it in will be between 1 to 4 (2-5 Utah Time). Just be prepared to be flexible around then, but I'll be sure to call as soon as possible on Sunday... I seriously hope the ward time y'all are going to isn't the 1 to 4 block because that'll screw with my plans. But we'll most likely make the call earlier in that time frame.

Oh yeah, so funny thing! Ben just sent out an email this week, and part of it touched on his MTC teachers. Well, from the sounds of it, he has one of the teachers I had when I was there, Brother Cena! He's Itallian, and probably one of the best teachers I've had in my life, so that's cool!

Anyways, out here I've had a bit of an exciting week. I got jumped by a dog on the street last Friday, hahaha!

But no, I'm serious. While knocking one day, a fully grown pitt-bull came running out at Elder Jensen and I from this house on the side of the road. This mammoth of a dog comes barking and snapping, directly towards me! But don't worry, it didn't bite. It only jumped up and pushed against my legs and my chest. But it did claw my pants and poke a hole on the thigh. I'll have to sew that up.
First encounter with a dog, it didn't draw blood, and I got a souvenir! I call that a success to remember!😇👻

On a brighter note, we moved out of our old place of residency and into a newer apartment in downtown Toledo. The move went smooth, our ward mission leader helped us move in, and it's a whole lot better than the old place. It has a dishwasher! But now we have to pay to wash our clothes in the apartment's public laundry room. Pros and Cons to everything, I guess.

The work has been slow as of late, but I blame that mostly for the recent ward changes. Our borders changed, the bishop's trying to get all the new callings assigned and he hasn't had much time to focus on helping the missionary work as much as he'd like to. But now that we're in a more central location in relation to the rest of our area, it'll be a lot easier to see more people and get to farther places.

Oh yeah, and this Tuesday we'll be driving up to Tacoma and trading out our current car, a Ford Fusion, for a new 2016 Corrola. From what I heard, it'll be red, and I drove one of those before in Lakewood and Gravelly Lake, so I know how well it handles. Can't wait for the road trip, as well as the new ride!

Still got a lot of cleaning up to do!
