Letter from Tacoma #102: October 9, 2017

HEY!

So... last week. Time to make it or break it. I'm gonna make it, and I'm gonna enjoy it the whole way, too. I'm actually the least trunky I've ever been right now, which is completely the opposite of what I thought would happen.

It honestly doesn't feel like I'm going home yet. At this rate, I don't think I'll even feel that way until I'm actually home... or maybe when I sit in the plane and it takes off. I don't know, but this much is certain. I'm determined to make this last week my best week ever! I want my last week here to be one I can look back on with full satisfaction.

But this last week was pretty fun, too, so let me tell you about that.

This whole week we've been mostly knocking doors, just trying to find some new investigators. We have a couple of potentials that we'll be seeing later this week, so I hope those become something. But other than that, I've been busy focusing on meeting with members in the ward, so Elder Scow can know his way around and be a bit more familiar with the area.

Willy has been out of town all this week, but as soon as he gets back we have plans to get him a baptismal interview that same night, so the ward can prepare for his baptism this Saturday. I would really like to see this baptism happen before I go, but if it turns out that it doesn't happen, it won't be because I didn't give my best effort to make it happen.

We finally taught our recent convert, Mikey, the last new member lesson. We had a really great visit with him and his dad yesterday. His dad isn't a member, but he's been coming to church for 3 years and seems to know just about everything that regularly goes on in the church. Don't know why he hasn't been baptized yet, cause he has been asked by dozens of missionaries up to the present day. But he is ready. I can tell. It's all a matter of when he admits that to himself and has the faith to follow through with it.

Anyways, we had a great lesson! And then afterwards, Chip (the dad) showed us a new game he got called Hive! It's kind of like chess, just without and actual board. All of the pieces are themed after bugs, and each one can only move in certain ways. We played a round, and it turned out to be way fun. I may have to look for a set when I'm home, cause it's pretty simple and small enough to carry around as well.

Today we did something funny. I finally paid back the Oly 4th elders their dues: Three cans of silly string and an open target. ðŸ¤—

Well, I was 'dying' anyways, so might as well have an execution. LOL!😆

But that's about it for me. You'll find my number one favorite song attached to the bottom of the email. Hope you enjoy it!  (Breaking Through - by Foreign Figures)

Love you all!
