Letter from Tacoma #90: July 17, 2017

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UGH! I didn't expect to get so trunky when I hopped on here to email today! But Dad emailed me about how the mission office is beginning to coordinate my departure and release, everyone else wrote about Black Belt Testing and how awesome everyone did in it, and now I've been presented as a candidate for Black Belt Testing next year!!! Oh, I'm way excited to go home! I love the mission immensely; never felt so alive in my life, but I'm rearing to reach the end!

Great job on getting Black Belt, Caleb, Tami, and Jeff! Better work hard in preparation for next year!!

Yeah, I'm totally going to test for black belt next year! Thanks for having me presented, Mom! You're the best! I know it'll be a challenge with me going to school in Logan, but I'm up for the challenge and willing to put in the work and sacrifice necessary to get 'er done!... Well, granted I don't know all the details of what it'll be like back home, but as of right now I'm committed to do it.

This week was pretty good. Not a whole lot happened, but it was still good. We had exchanges with the zone leaders on Tuesday, where we worked in Gig Harbor. But something I noticed is that all the people we talked to out there seemed to be way more civilized socially than the people in our area. We had a lot of great conversations with the people we talked to, a few funny ones, too! ðŸ˜†

Lately the mission has turned to focusing on giving church tours as a finding tool. We've done church tours in the past, but nothing like what we're giving now. They have a whole program/format to the tours now, to simplify it, bring the spirit in, help the people focus on their feelings, and help them recognize the spirit's influence. We haven't been able to have any tours yet in our area, but we're still pushing for it.

On Saturday, I found out something awesome! One of the families I knew from Ocean Shores Branch just moved into Belfair Ward! They're the Gerou's, and they're a more recent convert family. It was so great to see them again! Unfortunately they weren't able to come to church yesterday, but that's what happens when you move into a new house with four kids, two of which are toddler age. They must've been exhausted!

I don't have too much more to talk about... Random funny! One decomp, I think it was Friday night, I was craving cake, so I went and baked one!

It turned out way well!!

Oh, and transfer calls are coming up this week. I'll probably get transferred somewhere else, but that'll probably be my last area of my mission. Crazy to think about, so I'm way excited to get that call on Saturday!

Anyways, love you all!
Thanks for reading!!
